‘A Literary Weekend with Gratiaen Winners’ presented by Bentota Beach – The Cinnamon Luxury Collection, in partnership with The Gratiaen Trust, was held on the 26th and 27th of September. This was the second edition of our signature heritage events. The unparalleled, up close and personal experience featured many of Sri Lanka’s most prominent literary celebrities, in the backdrop of the beautiful Bentota Beach and Geoffrey Bawa’s Lunuganga Estate.

Key highlights of the event included a panel discussion with cricketing legend Kumar Sangakkara, and authors Andrew Fidel Fernando, Shehan Karunatilake, Vivimarie Vanderpoorten and Lal Medawattegedera on sport, politics, travel, and contemporary Sri Lanka. The event also included an adults-only short play Tea/Coffee by Arun Welendawe Prematilleke; and a visually rich presentation of Andrew Fidel-Fernando’s travels around the island, with a short reading from his Gratiaen Award winning book, Upon a Sleepless Isle, and much more.

The literary weekend came to a close with the exceptional service by the team at Bentota Beach, The Cinnamon Luxury Collection.
