She supervises the team for the region’s prime time evening show, News Stream, anchored by Kristie Lu Stout; oversees all the feature non-news programmes including Talk Asia, and CNN’s franchise series and theme weeks; she also manages the planning team which works on original content for news programmes worldwide including lining up key newsmakers. Sarita works closely with the news and feature production teams in Atlanta, London and Abu Dhabi. Working alongside the Hong Kong news desk, she is responsible for pushing content from the Asia-Pac region and works with her counterparts in various production hubs on programming changes according to breaking news of the day.
Sarita started as an intern with CNN International in 2001 and took up a fulltime position as a writer in 2004 after graduating with a Bachelors in Journalism. She has held various different positions at CNN including producing news and feature shows, executing planning and breaking news coverage for major stories such as Typhoon Haiyan, missing Malaysian airliner MH370, Arab Spring, Japan Earthquake, Mumbai Bombings and the Asian Tsunami. She’s been involved with some of CNN’s big field coverage operations like the Royal Wedding of William & Kate in 2011 and the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
